¿Qué hará el dentista con nuestro hijo/hija?
El especialista hará una revisión de los dientes y de las encías, examinará que los dientes del bebé sean de un color blanco uniforme. Comprobará que no hay alteraciones del crecimiento normal de los maxilares o de posición dental que puedan estar asociados a hábitos como la succión del pulgar u otro dedo, el uso del chupete, la respiración oral, etc. Nos enseñará los cuidados orales que debemos tener a la hora de la limpieza de las encías y los dientes de leche.
Se aconseja usar una gasa humedecida para limpiar las encías y la lengua del bebé después de cada toma para eliminar los residuos.
En cuanto aparezcan los primeros dientes, se puede recurrir a los dedales de silicona o látex, a cepillos adecuados para su edad y la boca del niño.
